Our appointment went quite well at the doctors yesterday.
The nurse was very nice.
Adam was chattering away to her as he always does.
A couple of things I didn't like.
The nurse didn't ask me or Adam where he was burned, she just assumed it was the palm of his hand, and started to cut the bandage off from the top of his hand.
I just quietly mentioned that it was the top of his hand which was burned.
The nurse looked surprised. But she turned his hand over and cut the bandage along the palm.
I suppose you would expect it to be the palm if you picked something up which was on fire wouldn't you.???
Anyway, Adam's hand looked much better. One of the blisters had filled up again, so the nurse burst it and pressed the liquid out.
All the red angry lookingness, is that a word, well you know what I mean, had gone and his hand was just brown with all the dead skin. I was really pleased with it.
It was re-bandaged and we were done then until Friday when he has to return to the hospital.
The nurse did say though that she would probably see us next week. So it sounds like he might have the dressings on for a while longer.
The nurse did try to leave his thumb free, but I wish she hadn't really. It left a raw blister showing which I wasn't happy about, and the edge of the bandage was going to rub it. I did point this out to her, but she said it would be OK. I know she was only trying to help, and here's me complaining, but I don't want it to get infected.
Anyway when we got home I put an extra bandage round his thumb just to cover it. So now I am happy. !!!! And Adam is happy because now he can at least write and he does like his writing. Sometimes our house is buried under Adam's paper, pens and folders. Ahhhhh Bliss.

I also called into the chemist to buy some verruca killer. I tried to get it on prescription, but it was no go I'm afraid. It cost a bomb, for such a small tube.
I just hope it works.
A word of warning though.
Don't ever play Snakes and Ladders or Ludo with a child and a monkey. They cheat like mad. They gang up on you and share their turns while your're not looking.
I wouldn't let the monkey play after that.
But I have to say that the bear was no different. He was cheating as well!!!!!

Not much more to tell really. I managed to get some washing done, and catch up on some journals. That's about it I'm afraid.
I think while Adam is still sleeping I might sit here a while longer and catch up some more.
A cup of tea though first.
The first one I bought up with me, I think the milk was off. Yucccck!!!
Thank you for your continued good wishes for Adam. I am sure they are working. Thanks again.

Thank you to Sugar for these beautiful tags.

I am glad that his hand is better. I hope it continues to get well fast. Helen
I'm glad his hand is looking better. I think like you, I would rather his whole hand is covered so no infection could sit in. Enjoy your Thurs.
Missie
I hope he continues to heal well, I would want the whole area bandaged as well - not need to risk infection. He sounds like such a charming boy!

Your mom has kept me informed about your latest trip to the hospital and I have to say what a silly billy that nurse sounded! lol. Oh I hope I don't get a row from mom for saying that! lol. Well. she did forget to bandage up your thumb, good job mom came to the rescue and did it when you got home. I hope you don't tell the nurse what i called her when you go back!!! lol. ;-) Take Care Adam and hurry up and get all better. Love Pam xx :-)
Carol,
If you get a verruca killer on prescription for Adam, it should cost you nothing, him being under 16. Glad he is healing well.

Great news to hear Adams hand is healing up nicely. I think I would of done the same and bandaged his thumb as well, especially being a little boy who is bound to get into things and end up getting it dirty. So Adams likes to write and draw?? Hmm tell him to continue taking care of his hand, he's suppose to be the next great Artist, that writes books about the world around him. Stay safe and loved all of you! (Hugs) Indigo
glad Adam is healing up nice:) have a good Friday:)

So glad to hear that Adam's hand is healing well. It sounds like ever such a nasty burn. I would be like you, and covering that up as much as I could. Infection is always a big concern with anything open like that. Better safe than sorry! Have a great weekend!
