Waiting time: 1 Hour and 20 minutes!!

Just a quick entry tonight.

Adam had an accident today.

Somehow, we aren't sure how exactly, he managed to burn his hand quite badly on the open fire which we had burning today.

We rushed him to the A&E, where we had to wait for an hour and a half before he was treated.

He isn't too bad in himself.  Obviously he was in shock.  The hospital gave him lots of pain relief in a very short time.  He has a very large bandage on his hand.  I've given him some more pain killers, and at least he is sleeping now.

I too, am off to my bed now as well,  just in case he wakes in the night.

I'll do an update tomorrow.

Goodnight.

Rain, Sheep and no job!!

 hello.gif hello image by Rainbows_19
Hope you have all had a good week so far.  I'm sorry I haven't been visiting journals this week.  The house has been chaotic.  Since New Year the phone hasn't stopped ringing, and E-mails have been coming thick and fast.  I'm not complaining mind you, we need the bookings.  :)  I will try to catch up a bit tonight.

Today it is cold.  It's pouring with rain although there is not much wind. It's quite soothing actually sitting here just listening to the rain on the windows.

I went to sign on at the agency this morning.  Unfortunately they don't have any jobs available for the hours I need.  The girl I spoke to was very helpful though and she gave me a few companies to ring direct, which I will do.  I will also try and find some good child care for Adam.  So all in all I was a bit disappointed, but then I knew the hours I need would be difficult.

Do you remember the sheep from a couple of days ago.???  Well, I am not sure if they took any sheep out of the field, or whether they were bringing them in.  Looking in the field yesterday there still seems to be a lot of sheep in there. !!!!!  :)  So I don't know.

Thank you for all your comments on Wednesday.  It got me thinking about the Dyson.
I have to say that it is quite a noisy hoover, but I haven't really got anything to compare it with.
I have had a Dyson for a good number of years, and I have to say it is the best hoover I have ever had, which is why I always replace it with another one.
I have a small hoover, not a Dyson, which I leave in the caravan, but even that is a bit noisy.
This is my third Dyson.
The first one went with a bang after my dog, Scamp, for some reason known only to himself decided to cock his leg up it and peed all over it.  Not good!!!:)  The second one, well what can I say, it was abused.

Yesterday, didn't really do much either.  We went shopping.  We needed some things for the caravan.
Adam needed some new swimming shorts for this morning.  The ones he has are a bit tight, but he has had to manage with them, because we could not find any anywhere.
And believe me we looked.!!!
I was going to look again this morning, but the weather was so horrible and cold, we just came home instead.  I have until next Friday to get him some new ones, so it wasn't that urgent today.

Keith is off work today sick.  Man flu. 'Nuff said.

I thought I would leave you with some photos of the baby elephant.  The photos don't show just how big it is.  But you get the general idea.

Indigo, I would like to thank you for the beautiful comment you left.  It was very much appreciated by both Laura and myself.  Thank you again.

Update:  Since I wrote this entry the wind has got up, rain is still pouring and we have snow falling.  I'm not getting too excited because I know it won't last.

Have a good evening everyone.

Baby elephant and lamb chops.

AFTERNOON.gif Good Afternoon Butterflies image by macra67

I bet that caught your attention didn't it.???

On Sunday, we didn't do very much,  Just a bit of shopping.  We did go to the local tip and got rid of a load of rubbish.  When we came home, we realised that we had left my old hoover behind.  Oh well, it will have to wait until next time.

I didn't tell you did I, that I had to have a new hoover.  A couple of days after we had had the new carpet down, I came to hoover it and my hoover gave an almighty bang, and just gave up.  It was a bit on the old side, maybe five years old or so.  Not very old you may say, but it had been battered a bit.  It fell down the stairs twice. No, I didn't drop it.!!!  It fell all by itself.  No.  Honestly.  One minute it was standing on top of the stairs, and the next we heard an almighty crash, and when we looked it was lying in the hall.  So I suppose it's lucky it's lasted this long.  Anyway I bought a new one.  Another Dyson, but an uptodate one.  It's lovely.  For a hoover.!!!  ;)

A baby elephant.  What can I say.

We have been looking for a couple of TV's to put in our caravans.
At the moment they only have small portables in there.
They are just to small.
Keith saw a 32in TV advertised in the newspaper.
We rang them.  "Come and have a look" the man said.  We did.
Well,!!!  I am not joking. it was the size of a baby elephant.
Plus it had a very bad scratch down the side.  Yes, it can be got out, but not good enough to put in a caravan.
The man left us to decide.
We both, that is Keith and I, decided, yes it was just too big.
It was a bargain at only £100 for the TV and the stand.  But we couldn't really use it.
The man came back, and I heard my husband say "will you take £80" for it.  WTH.
I glared at Keith with one of those looks that says. "What the hell are you saying."
I should have spoke up LOUDLY, I know.
I didn't.
You can tell how big it was, we had to put the back seats down in the back of the car to fit it in.
It took two of them to carry it.
I'm sorry, I've laughing now just remembering how funny it was.  I should have had a video camera.  I would have made a fortune.
So now I have this great big telly in my living room, and we have decided to take our own TV to the caravan instead.
We still have to get another one yet.!!!
I think I will take Laura with me instead next time.!!!!  :)

Adam went back to school on Monday.
The new bus driver is very nice and friendly.
He took good care of the kids getting on.  Checked their seatbelts and made sure they were buckled in properly.
This is what we like to see.
We are trusting this driver with our most precious gifts. He better take good care of them.
I followed him to school.  His driving seems OK.  For now.

I have an interview with an agency on Friday.  They had some jobs advertised, so I rang and they asked me to go and see them.  So hopefully I might have a job for Monday.  Wish me luck.

Not much on today.  I have bought some garden furniture.  For the caravans.  I've bought four garden chairs and a table, a barbecue, a parasol and two cast iron bases for just over a £100.  A bargain.  In the sales.

I pulled up outside the house.  There was a big truck parked at the edge of the field.  I knew what that meant.  They had come to collect the sheep, which I have been watching for the past few weeks from my bedroom window, while I'm on the computer.  It was sad.  The sheep came trotting up to the van. They didn't need herding on there, they just walked on.  I suppose they have gone to market and will probably be lamb chops on someone's plate.  They haven't taken them all though.  I can still see a few in the field.  I wonder if the van will come back for them.???

Well, that's about it for now.

Hope you all have a good Wednesday.

Guess what.... we had snow yesterday.

               anidollgm.gif picture by MM7129

For all of 60 SECONDS.  Then the sun came out.  We did have quite a bit of rain though and some hail, and it was cold.  Oh well!!!

This morning the weather looks a bit calmer.  It doesn't look like there is much wind, the trees aren't even moving.

Not really much to tell today.

Still getting used to my glasses.  Everything is still a bit sloping and the floor still looks blurred.  I keep tripping over things.  But I'm wearing them all day now, rather than just for a few hours a day.  I haven't driven in them yet.  Don't know whether I will chance that.  We'll see tomorrow.  Keeping the lenses clean is a problem.  Usually just a wipe with a cloth does the job, but it's leaving them smeared.  I may have to get some proper cleaner.

Adam goes back to school tomorrow so it will be back to normality now.  They have a new bus company driving them to school now, so I might follow the bus to school just to see how they drive.  One of the moms usually does this to just check.  Although the kids know to tell if they don't like the driver's driving.

We will be taking all the Christmas decorations down to day.  It doesn't seem like they have been up five minutes.  This holiday season has just flown.

I have been quite busy the last few days.  It seems like everyone is starting to book their summer holidays.  I have taken three booking for our caravans in the last two days, and I have had several enquiries. So that is good news.

Yesterday we took Adam to have his haircut, and Laura had hers done at the same time. We also went to the local tip and got rid of everything that is broken, we were never going to get them fixed, so they went.

That's about it I think.  Nothing planned for today except maybe a bit of shopping.

Have you noticed I haven't mentioned my car.  Yes,!!!!  I have it back on the road. JUST!!!  Yesterday Keith phoned to see if they had had the part delivered.  The chap said NO.  WTH.  Keith told him that we need the car back for Monday.  Chap said he would ring the dealer to see if they could get the part delivered today (saturday).  We weren't having none of this, we rang the dealer ourselves, only to be told it had already been delivered. Keith rang the garage back,  Oh suddenly they have the part.  Keith told him "I'm bringing the car over now" So he did.  They charged us over DOUBLE what they told us it would cost.  We will never, never, never use that garage again!!!! and we will never recommend it to anyone.  Enough said.!!!

I am calm now and I'm going to drink my tea, which Keith has very kindly brought up to me.  He is useful sometimes.  I have to go do Adam some breakfast as well.  I also have 107 alerts.  I am never going to catch up.  I'm sorry.  I will read some later though.

I hope you all have a great Sunday.

NO SNOW, NO CAR but...

<A href="http://journals.aol.co.uk/_do/%3Cdiv%20style=" center;? text-align: width:480px;>

I'm H.A.P.P.Y.  I'm H.A.P.P.Y. I know I am. I'm sure I am.  I'm H.A.P.P.  H.A.P.P.   H.A.P.P.Yyyyyy.

Why??? You may well ask.  Yesterday I had a phone call to say my new glasses were ready for pick up.
You may not think this is something to be doing cartwheels over, but let me tell you, it is so good to be able to read close up again.!!!!:)
You probably didn't know that I wear glasses.  How could you.????
I first started wearing glasses in 1977, when I started to learn to drive.
I wore contact lenses for a few years, until my eyes got too bad and they couldn't make contacts for me any more.
Due to one thing or another, I haven't had a new pair of glasses for about three or maybe even four years now.
My eyes had got so bad, I haven't been able to read with my glasses on or off, and trying to get a splinter out of Adam's finger was nigh on impossible. :(
I needed a pair for reading and a pair for everyday use.  If you knew me well, you would know that I loose everything.
My handbag I have left in shops,  My purse I have left.  Once I left my brand new pair of shoes, they'd never been worn, on the top of the car and I drove of with them still on there and they were never seen again.!!!!  It's true.  Honestly.
So you can imagine my horror when she suggested two pairs.  NO WAY.
So I opted for varifocals.

Oh My I have just noticed there are sheep walking past my car.  I'll have to get a photo.  Ok I'm back got some photos but they are no brilliant. I just love living here.!!!!!  Now where was I.  Oh yes.  Varifocals.

They tell me it can take six weeks to get used to them,  I'm only to wear them for a few hours a day, and definitely not to drive in them.  At the moment I feel I am sliding off my chair, everything is sloping, and if I don't turn my head properly, it's a bit blurry.  Well,  I will persevere.!!! :)

Well, still have no snow here!!  I did see a bit of news yesterday and saw that Scotland I think had quite a bit.  Sadly I heard there has been a fatality already.  Sending condolences to the family.  I feel guilty now that I have been asking for snow.  Just a little bit would have made me happy.  I had such a lovely time as a child in the snow, when we had 6ft snow drifts and had to dig ourselves out of the back door.  So exciting when you are only eight  yrs old.!!  As I was saying to someone this morning, I am a Cancerian, which makes me a romantic.  What can I say.!!  :)

As for the car.  Well,  all I can say is that I am calmer today.  It's a good job Laura was on the computer yesterday because I was having a serious rant.!!! :(
The garage in question, which we will never use again, hadn't even ordered the part until Wednesday 2nd .  It should have been there on Thursday 3rd.  NO. It hadn't turned up.  Still no phone call as yet. It's now 10.17am. on Friday 4th.  It is a good job I do not have to phone them.  I am not renowned for my even temper.!!!!  So I am still without transport. :(

Well, this has turned into a rambling entry.  Sorry.  Adam is trying to open cans of cat food to feed the cats, so I had better get off here and go sort him out, before he cuts himself.

Have a great Friday.

NO SNOW!!!!

You Had an Average Year
While you had some setbacks, your year also brought some good things.
All in all, things mostly evened out. That's just how life works.
Focus on what went well for you - and what you can improve.
A new year is a perfect reason to give yourself a fresh start!

http://www.blogthings.com/howdidyouryearratequiz/

I'm not sure where I saw this link.  So I apologise for not giving credit to the person I snagged it off.

Good morning to everyone.  I hope you all had a good day yesterday.

Well I woke this morning to find NO SNOW!!!! :(  I haven't seen the news yet this morning so I don't know if there has been any snow, in other parts of the country.  If there has I WANT IT.!!!  They promised us snow, the least they could do is deliver.  I think I need another cup of tea. I'm ranting. Either too much caffeine, or not enough.!!! :)

The house is quiet at the moment.  Adam is still asleep, Keith has gone to work, and Laura is still sleeping.  So I thought I might do a little entry, although not much to tell this morning.

I haven't been out anywhere as I still don't have my car.  Hopefully they will ring today to say they have the part and to bring it down and they'll do it today.  Then I only have to get the tax, and whooooo hoooooo, I'll be back on the road.

The weather yeasterday was vile, just rain, rain, and more rain. And it's cold, and windy.  Yuck.  Even the cats didn't go out.  They were all curled up under the radiator.  Wuzzys!!!

Just pottered about catching up on a few jobs.  Washing, drying, recycling, and up to my elbows in cat litter.  Lovely.  Adam had his friends round, and they weren't much trouble.  I spent a few hours filling in application forms and looking in the job centre, and the paper for a job.  I think this needs to be my priority at the moment.  I have to find a job.  SOON.  I'm sure something will turn up.

I think that's it for now.  I am going to pour myself a cup of tea, and jump in the shower, just in case they ring about the car.  I don't mean to imply I only have a shower when I have to go out.  No. No.  I have been known to have a shower even when I'm staying in. Lol

I have 114 journal alerts this morning, so I'm sorry if I haven't been by lately.  I will catch up.

Have a good Thursday.

More photos.

<A href="http://journals.aol.co.uk/_do/%3Cdiv%20style=" center;? text-align: width:480px;>

" target=_top>

Well look at that I managed to get a little slideshow going.  Don't know how I did it but there it is. The only problem is when Adam just looked at it, he was upset because there were pictures of him missing.  Drat!!!!!

Anyway I have tried to do it again.  Sorry for the multiple alerts.

The pictures aren't brilliant but they were taken at the party last night.  I wish I had remembered to take more, especially full length ones of all of us.  Adam looked very smart in his shirt and black jeans.  Not his usual attire as you can imagine!!! :)

Just wanted to say.  Kath, Laura loved the poem you left for her.  She copied it down and was reading it out to everyone.  Thank you for that.

Is anyone having trouble with You Tube today. Or is it just me?????   I can't get anything to play on it today.  Grr.

I think I deserve a cup of tea.

Take care everyone.
